My name is Emma and I opened this shop for my aunt Anastasia and hope to recruit other talented aunts and cousins to contribute to it.
Of Green and Armenian heritage, my aunts have a beautiful talent for making imaginative and unique knitted sweaters, dresses, hats, booties, blankets and other beautiful heirloom pieces.
I grew up wearing mostly their creations and now my daughter is enjoying the privilege of their talent. The art of knitting and crocheting has been in my family for countless generations. My Greek grandmother passed it on to my mother, aunts and cousins and it's a part of their being.
I felt that these heirlooms should be shared with the world and since my Sophia Lilly has been their muse.... Sophia Lilly Designs was born.
Every piece is custom made, those shown in the listings are the sample pieces. Every piece can be customized by color, yarn material, size and any other special requests.
"In my culture knitting is part of our everyday life and a way to connect with friends and family. I learned to knit at a very young age. One of the most beautiful traditions we have is knitting an entire wardrobe for a baby when a friend or family member is expecting.
This is how this shop came about. When my niece Emma was expecting Sophia Lilly, my sisters and I knit for her countless dresses, sweaters, pants and blankets.
Sophia Lilly has become an amazing inspiration for me and I would love to share my creations with your little ones. Every piece of clothing that I knit brings to me a great deal of pleasure as I put my heart and soul into it and I hope it brings you just as much joy.
